Continental Club

The retro Austin relic opened in 1957 as a swanky private supper club, but in the decades since, it's transformed into a mecca for roots, rockabilly, country and swing music. A classic neon sign hangs above the entrance, and custom hot rods line South Congress Avenue in front of the dimly lit club, which Playboy magazine named one of the Best Bars in America.
White Horse

If you’re in the mood to dance to old-school country music, it’s almost impossible not to have a fun night at White Horse, a legitimate honky tonk (and also a legitimately great bar). There’s live music every night of the week and a dance floor that’s big enough to take advantage of it. But if you do need some fresh air, you can grab tacos from the food truck in the back, play some pool, or just enjoy your drink outside.

Aaron Franklin is widely regarded as one of the most influential pitmasters in the U.S. He received the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Southwest in 2015. His popular and critically lauded restaurant, Franklin Barbecue, was awarded Texas Monthly’s coveted Best Barbecue Joint in Texas, and Bon Appetit’s Best Barbecue Joint in America.

El Veracruz
Mexican restaurants and taco trailers are two different beasts, but if there's one brick and mortar-less tortilla slinger that deserves a nod, it's Veracruz All Natural.
Torchy's Tacos
The taco chain started in a trailer in Austin, Texas, in 2006. Since then, it has grown a cult following in Texas and expanded to more than 50 locations. The decor is devilishly cheeky. Torchy's branding has a sassy satanic but playful vibe that is definitely an upgrade compared with most fast-food chains'.
